Toxoplasma Press is a publisher with a focus on books, magazines, art projects and media, usually with messages of a disregard for rules and authority. The publishing house arose as a backlash to many small publishers being forced to close due to increased shipping costs, shortages of paper and materials, and the harsh climate within the industry. Toxoplasma Press is founded by a group of friends and collaborators consisting of artists, writers, photographers and designers. Together they create books that can often be described as works of art. The books are often hand-bound and specially printed.

The name Toxoplasma Press comes from the name of the parasite Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that in the brains of mice has been shown to influence them to become more risk-prone so that they will be more likely eaten by cats, the parasite's real target.
