Here you'll find all types of protection we offer at Highlights. From classic latex gloves to winterized versions and other types of protective equipment and supplies. Gas masks and dust filters can be found in a separate category.
Disposable gloves are usually made of latex or nitrile. Latex gloves and nitrile gloves are often used for easier protection against dirt and bacteria. Both latex gloves and nitrile gloves work well to protect hands from getting sticky or dirty with paint. But the difference is quite large when it comes to handling chemicals and solvents. It is important to protect the hands against chemicals and dangerous substances as the skin absorbs them and the substances can be transported out of the body via the blood.
If you are going to use your gloves when handling water-soluble products such as acrylic paint or water-based paints, latex gloves work perfectly. However, latex gloves do not provide good protection against chemicals and solvents such as those found in some spray paints.
If you have to handle oil-based substances, solvents or chemicals, we recommend nitrile gloves. Nitrile gloves provide extra good protection against chemicals found in many paints and inks. Nitrile gloves are also hard-wearing and durable. Most spray paint manufacturers recommend using nitrile gloves when handling the products. In our range of gloves you will find both disposable gloves made of nitrile but also robust gloves with nitrile treatment.
