DIAMONDS – Moving Cathedrals. The Berlin-based DIAMONDS crew is a collective of painters formed in the late 2000s. Each member contributed ideas and methods that went far beyond the classic graffiti of the time. DIAMONDS is best known for its often large-scale collaborative wall productions. Moving Cathedrals focuses on a series of works in which the group and friends collaborated to take this concept to another level.

Moving Cathedrals consists mainly of traffic images from the painted S-Bahn carriages. Unlike the usual classic letters, these canvas-like giants of paintings required a different kind of photographic documentation. Close-ups were as important as photos from inside, as were images where the doors rearranged the entire works again.

Three essays in the book provide a spectator's perspective: Larissa Kikol provides an art historical analysis of the works while Tobias Barenthin Lindblad situates the series within a history of abstract graffiti from FUTURA2000, SKKI toch AKAY. Emmett Edelstein takes us on an authentic photo tour of the city in one of the wholecars.

The 180-page book is an in-depth catalog of unauthorized exhibitions of works that were only available for a few hours. In addition to its unique content, the book has beautiful details such as an embossed hardcover, oversized format, and two different types of paper.
