Less than 60 years ago, Wout Post, the founder of MOTIP, began working with paint in his father’s shed in Valkenburg, the Netherlands. Looking to earn some extra money as a student, he decided to sell cans of paint. His interest in paint grew; he began experimenting with mixing pigments himself and started focusing specifically on automotive paints. The paint cans were eventually replaced by spray cans and small bottles. The name "Post" was changed to "MOTIP"—a reference to the pointed-tip bottles used for quick, DIY repairs on motor vehicles.
