CAVS, Just a Vandal from the Bronx - New York City Graffiti, 1980s-2010s. CAVS (Paul Cavalieri) has been a prolific and resident Bronx graffiti artist for almost 40 years. In this book, he shares hundreds of photos of his work, his journey as an artist, and stories about New York City's graffiti scene through the decades. CAVS tells its own story from the Wakefield neighborhood in the northern part of the Bronx, with his own unique voice. The book contains intimate accounts of CAV's family and background with its beginnings in the Bronx and his work on walls, subways, freight trains and trucks. He covers dodging cops, working with other artists, and being one of the East Coast's pioneers of freight train writing in the mid-to-late 80s. CAVS takes us to the time and place that today has changed a lot. Although CAVS only paints with permission today, he is still a vandal at heart.
